Conical twin screw extruder operating manual
Conical twin screw extruder is applicant for PVC powder material, with different mould and downstream equipment; the plastic extruder can produce pipe, profile, plate& sheet, and pelletizing.
We need to do some preparatory work before we start the extruder:
1.Place the extruder in the designated ground which is clean and leveled . Accurately Arrange the extruder and downstream machine according to the layout plan. The calibration level should also ensure the center height. After all the extruder is arranged , check that the components that need lubrication for each machine (gearbox, reducer, screw, slide rail) have lubricating oil and grease. If these areas are not filled with lubricating oil and grease, it will cause rapid damage to the equipment. At the same time, check all devices again for any damage to the components. Finally, connect the electric circuit, water circuit, and air circuit according to the label on the machine before debugging, check whether the main distribution box and external power aviation plug base are normal,Check for any damage to the main power supply, front and rear auxiliary power lines, and heating lines. (including connecting unconnected lines inside the electrical box according to the corresponding numbers on the lines and checking for loose wires caused by bumps during transportation), tighten all fastening bolts and nuts again to ensure that all nuts and bolts are tightened before starting up.
2. After turning on the main power switch of the production line, the operator uses an electric pen to check for any leakage in the production line. Confirm that there is no leakage phenomenon. When starting up, first jog the start switch of each motor (low-speed operation) to observe whether the rotation direction of the motor is correct. If there is a motor with incorrect rotation, adjust the circuit to ensure that the motor rotates correctly.
After the preparation work is completed, can start commissioning:
1. Heating the temperature to 120℃-150℃, and keep it warm about an hour. During the heating process , check the temperature of heating at any time to see if it is matches the temperature displayed on the temperature controller . After keeping warm about an hour . then heat it up to the process temperature of the material.
2. Start the main motor , Gradually increase the speed from zero to 5-10 rpm , then start the feeder motor .Attention when the machine is started, it is forbidden for personnel to stand at the position of the discharge port to prevent the hot air or material inside the organic cylinder from expanding and spraying out, which may cause personal injury. After material extrude out, then check the current, Slowly increase the speed of the main engine and the feed speed. When the machine is running normally, always observe the current of the machine. When the machine is running normally, it is advisable not to exceed 80% of the rated current of the main machine. If the rated current is exceeded, stop feeding immediately. If the machine exceeds the rated current and stops on its own, do not attempt to start it. Wait until the screw is cleaned before starting it again, otherwise it will cause damage to the machine and mold parts.
3. During the normal production process, it is necessary to observe the pressure of the pressure sensor and the current of the motor at all times (the current should be observed not only on the operation panel but also on the frequency converter to prevent errors between the two). If there is too much fluctuation, immediately reduce the feeding amount or turn off the feeding and prepare to stop the machine for inspection.
4. If need to stop the machine in an emergency, press the emergency stop button quickly.
When stop the machine, Follow these steps:
1. Turn the feeding screw gradually to 0 and then turn off the feeding motor.
2. Close the cooling water valve of the vacuum pump and stop the vacuum pump.
3. After confirming that there is no material in the barrel, the speed of the main screw is gradually reduced to 0, then turn off main motor.
4. Turn off the power supply of each heating area of the extruder and turn off the heating power supply of the mold.
5. Close all the water valve and turn off the Main powder
6. Empty the material in hopper.
Clean the machine, do anti-rust treatment, and make a shutdown record.
