Sheet extrusion line

The thought of flat sheets ever prohably never crossed your mind did it? Believe it or not, this process starts with polymers. Polymers are unique materials constructed from tiny elements called molecules linked end-to-end in long chains. Polymers, polymers everywhere! They are present in many household items that you encounter daily, such as bags for plastics, water bottles or even the walls of your house and other buildings!

The sheet extrusion lines become the simplest and easiest way to generate sheets. In the beginning, we add raw material such as small plastic parts or powder to a hopper. This is step one in the process. From there, materials are taken to a heater where they're heated and melted into liquid form. That melting phase is integral, because it sets the materials up for what comes next.

Sheet making made easy

Once the materials melt, it leads into a CASTING stage. The molten material is forced out through a particular die shape. The flat and even shape is given to the melted material by this die so it becomes necessary. The material has to solidify after it is shaped and the cooling system does that job. This material is rapidly cooled by a cooling system that connects the die. This cooling is used to again cool down the molten material and turns it into a solid flat sheet.

Furthermore, these machines can also manufacture sheets of different properties. Some sheets are strong and hard so it is more difficult to snap them; others are soft, bendy or light-weight because they can flex both longitudinally and transversally. What kind of sheets we will produce depends on the type of raw materials that use as well as how do we set up our machine.
